Part 2: Paul Liniger interview on 750 KXL
Paul is the original founder of the company and works diligently to support the company’s growth and overall efficiency. Among many tasks he focuses on marketing, quality control and landscape design. Paul also enjoys meeting with clients and discovering their needs. He has a meticulous eye for detail and high expectations for everyone surrounding him.
Crystal Springs Landscape, Inc is the result of many years of dedication and hard work. The roots took hold when Paul, just a sophomore in high school, plunked down $750 on an old pickup. At that time he was marketing his business as “Call Paul and Haul” – a yard debris and junk hauling company for families in his SE Portland neighborhood. Throughout his high school years he grew a steady business taking care of customers’ yards and hauling away their unwanted junk. Ironically the business never stopped when Paul went off to college. To further his experience, Paul worked for a variety of contractors including a commercial remodeling company, a brick mason, and a high-end custom home builder, during summer breaks and right out of college. During this time he also continued to cater to his lawn care and hauling customers. Paul’s passion has always been in construction and design.
Today Crystal Springs Landscapes, Inc. is an evolving vision, and our success has been fueled by the core principles from which Paul operates. These are principles that Paul learned from his family and friends and have carried him through all of his life experiences. These principles are centered on one virtue – honesty. In Paul’s eyes, honesty is at the root of everything. This knowledge combined with a passion for learning new things and challenging those around him to do the same, have created the foundation from which Crystal Springs Landscapes has continued to grow.
“Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure… than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.”
- Theodore Roosevelt
“Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values.”
– Ayn Rand
